[origin: EP0560590A2] Free cutting brass containing no lead or the minimum amount of lead is provided. In place of lead in conventional free cutting brass, bismuth in contained therein. In addition, misch metal is added thereto as a third metal, such that intermetallic compounds are formed by bismuth and misch metal, and lead and misch metal.
