Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0561007A1] A description is given of a machine for producing reinforcing cages for concrete pipes, the reinforcing cages comprising longitudinal wires and a wound wire which is wound over the said longitudinal wires and welded at the points of intersection. In a machine of this kind, the longitudinal wires are, as is known, cut to length beforehand and fed into the machine through funnels (9). In order to make manual work superfluous and improve the output of the machine, a wire feed device is provided which feeds the machine automatically with the longitudinal wires before each winding operation. The device comprises a feed apparatus (21) for a plurality of wires (33), adjoining guide tubes (37), the mouths of which are in alignment with the funnels (9), and a cutting device (38). The said machine parts can be combined to form an insertion frame (44) which can be displaced longitudinally as a whole. Guide nozzles (39) are distributed uniformly over the circumference, on the same diameter as the cutting devices (38), on a supporting disc (51) connected firmly to the main disc in terms of rotation but longitudinally displaceable together with the insertion frame (44). When the number of insertion channels is smaller than the maximum number of longitudinal wires which could be used, the supply operation is performed in a cyclic process which allows of several variations. <IMAGE>
