A description is given of a snowboard binding having a front binding (20) and rear binding (21), in the manner of a turntable arrangement, on a snowboard (19), in each case a sole plate on the boots of the user being in engagement with a front and rear turntable of the snowboard (19) and a release and locking device (22) being provided between the turntables for the common release and locking, respectively, of the sole plates. In order to provide a cost-effective and operationally reliable locking and release device, which is furthermore protected against the penetration of snow, ice and water and the like, the invention provides that there is arranged, on each turntable of the front binding and rear binding, a pivotable clamping ring (48) which, when the binding is released, pivots via a lever linkage as a result of the movement of a latching bolt (29). For the release and locking, respectively, of the binding, the respective clamping ring is connected, via a Bowden cable (24, 25), to the release and locking device and, starting from each turntable, a pulling cable (12, 12a) acts on synchronous pivot levers, a common latching bolt (3) connecting the pivot levers to one another for the purpose of opening or closing the binding. <IMAGE>

Beschrieben wird eine Snowboard-Bindung mit einer Vorder- (20) und Hinterbindung (21) nach Art einer Drehtelleranordnung auf einem Snowbrett (19), wobei sich jeweils eine Sohlenplatte an den Schuhen des Benutzers im Eingriff mit einem vorderen und hinteren Drehteller des Snowboards (19) befindet und hierbei eine Auslöse- und Sperrvorrichtung (22) zwischen den Drehtellern zur gemeinsamen Auslösung bzw. Sperrung der Sohlenplatten vorgesehen ist. Um eine kostengünstige und betriebssichere Sperr- und Auslösevorrichtung zu schaffen, die im weiteren gegen das Eindringen von Schnee, Eis und Wasser und dergleichen geschützt ist, ist es vorgesehen, daß an jedem Drehteller der Vorder- und Hinterbindung ein schwenkbarer Spannring (48) angeordnet ist, der beim Auslösen der Bindung durch die Bewegung eines Rastbolzens (29) über ein Hebelgestänge verschwenkt, wobei zum Auslösen bzw. Sperrung der Bindung der jeweilige Spannring über einen Bowdenzug (24,25) mit der Auslöse- bzw. Sperrvorrichtung verbunden ist und hierbei von jedem Drehteller ausgehend ein Seilzug (12,12a) an synchronen Schwenkhebeln angreift, wobei zum Öffnen oder Schließen der Bindung ein gemeinsamer Einrastbolzen (3) die Schwenkhebel miteinander verbindet. <IMAGE>
