[origin: EP0562118A1] This invention relates to a cleaning member for removing deposit on the spouting port surface of an ink jet head. An object of this invention is to provide a cleaning blade for ink jetting, which is free of uneven wear caused by chipping of the cleaning blade and the like even after repeatedly cleaning for a long time and ensures constantly satisfactory cleaning for a long time. Another object is to improve water-repellency of the cleaning blade composed of a resilient member to provide clearer separation of ink from the blade. A constituent of this invention for achieving these objects is as follows: (1) cleaning member is composed of ether family polyurethane rubber resilient body and the constituent of hardening agent of said resilient body is composed of only two functional components; (2) preferably, a water-repellency applying susbstance having active radicals capable of chemical bonding to said polyurethane rubber is contained. <IMAGE>
