Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0562947A1] The device for identifying the contents of a straw (1) formed from a segment of tube made from ionomer resin which is heat-sealable and has high performance at cryogenic temperatures, consists of a length of sheathing (3) slid over the straw (1), and held trapped between the ends (1c and 1d) of the straw (1) which are flattened and enlarged transversely during sealing after filling. The sheath carries the printed identification data, and its colouring facilitates identification. The printing defects which may occur on ionomer resin are thus avoided, as are the alterations in the straw or in its contents by diffusion of the ink components. The sheath (3) may be made oval at one end (3a) in order not to move freely. <IMAGE>
