Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9308110A1] The main application P 40 12 979.9 discloses a reeling machine with a longitudinal cutter (21) for slitting the web of material (1) into individual webs and a reeling station (9, 10) for each individual web composed of two reeling stands (11, 12) movable in relation to the web of material (1). A guiding head (15, 16) linked to a rotary drive (17, 18) and capable of being inserted into the reeling tube is secured to each reeling stand (11, 12). In order to interrupt web traction, a driven roller (support roller 8) is arranged between the longitudinal cutter (21) and the reeling stations (9, 10). A roller composed of individual, free-running segments (26) for clamping by frictional engagement the individual webs can be pressed against the driven roller (support roller 8). In order to exert a uniform pressure over the whole working width, the segments (26) are mounted next to each other with radial bearings (29) on a flexible shaft (24). The shaft (24) extends parallel to the shaft of the driven roller (support roller 8) and is secured to a stiff tie-bar (23) that extends across the whole working width. An adjusting element (piston-cylinder units 30, 31) secured to the tie-bar (23) and arranged between two segments (26) acts on the shaft (24) and exerts a pressure in the direction of the driven roller (support roller 8).
