Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0563448A2] A radiator unit is disclosed having a mounting plate and having at least one infrared radiator which is mounted thereon on bases and has a quartz-glass tube which is open on one side and whose ends are passed through ceramic end pieces, through which the electrical connections for the heating element are passed. In order to specify a cost-effective and operationally reliable radiator unit which permits simple installation and a variable arrangement of the infrared radiator and can be produced with the flat radiator having short unheated zones, it is proposed that the mounting plate be provided with a grid of mounting holes passing through it, which grid is formed from a basic pattern having at least threefold symmetry, and that the bases be formed with through-holes for mounting on the mounting plate and for those connections to be passed through which are compatible with the grid of mounting holes, and to form the electrical connections in the form of two connecting pins whose free ends project at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the quartz-glass tube and which extend into a hole in the base to make electrical contact with a power supply.
