Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0563498A1] On the same substrate on which the motif is to be printed, a colour atlas is printed under identical printing conditions, which colour atlas has a number of colour panels which themselves each contain a number of colour zones which constitute the silk screens, used for the printing one on top of the other of three selected printing colours from a limited number of predetermined printing colours with different gradation of the raster percentages of the said silk screens upon which the printing is based, for the three printing colours. The original is divided into a multiplicity of, in particular, dot-shaped image areas and the colour to be printed in each of these areas is determined. By comparison with the colour zone of the colour atlas, the screen percentages of the silk screens are determined for each area. With reference to these raster percentages, the required half-tone films and, from these, the silk screens for the printing colours involved are produced. The printing of the motif takes place in a silk screen printer with the silk screens produced in this way. <IMAGE>
