[origin: EP0563774A2] Protection circuit breaker (1) can be remotely controlled by means of an external remote switch (8), via control electronics (2) and an electromagnetic switching drive (3) which is controlled by said control electronics. The switching drive (3) switches the circuit via a latching mechanism (4) which is latched to it and unlatches and is opened in the event of overcurrent by bimetallic tripping of the switching drive (3), and in consequence interrupts the circuit. In the event of bimetallic tripping, an auxiliary switch (6) is operated which, via the control electronics (2), causes the remote switch (8) to switch off and the switching drive (3) to latch to the opened latching mechanism (4) again. <IMAGE>
