A device for exchanging a full reel for an empty reel in a winding device and in particular in the winding device of a double twist stranding machine (1) has a reel gripping device (24) in which the strand-shaped material (L) held between a laying device (120) and the full reel (5) is sought and grasped. After the grasping of the strand material (L), the reel (5) is rotated back and the gripping device (24) is removed from the reel (5) to form a loop of strand material (La, Lb). Subsequently the strand material (L) is cut off in the region of the full reel (5) by a cutting and holding device (43) and is held such that the full reel (5) is removed from the winding device and can be replaced with an empty reel. <IMAGE>

Eine Vorrichtung zum Wechseln einer gefüllten Spule gegen eine leere Spule in einer Spuleinrichtung und insbesondere in der Spuleinrichtung einer Doppelschlagverlitzmaschine (1) weist eine Spulengreifeinrichtung (24) auf, in welcher das zwischen einer Verlegeeinrichtung (120) und der gefüllten Spule (5) gehaltene strangförmige Gut (L) gesucht und gegriffen wird. Nach dem Ergreifen des Stranggutes (L) wird die Spule (5) zurückgedreht und die Greifeinrichtung (24) von der Spule (5) entfernt, um eine Stranggut-Schleife (La,Lb) zu bilden. Anschließend wird das Stranggut (L) im Bereich der gefüllten Spule (5) durch eine Schneid- und Halteeinrichtung (43) abgeschnitten und gehalten, so daß dann die gefüllte Spule (5) aus der Spuleinrichtung entfernt und durch eine Leerspule ersetzt werden kann. <IMAGE>
