A novel method for manufacturing substrates with defined metallic surface structure is specified, which method can be used advantageously in particular in the manufacture of reflection holograms on banknotes. In this case the metallic surface elements are produced on a master, for example a printing roller, in peelable form and then transferred directly from the master onto the respective substrate. <IMAGE>

Es wird ein neues Verfahren zur Herstellung von Substraten mit definierter Metalloberflächenstruktur angegeben, welches sich insbesondere bei der Herstellung von Reflexion-Hologrammen auf Wertpapieren vorteilhaft einsetzen läßt. Hierbei werden die metallischen Flächenelemente auf einem Master, z. B. einer Druckwalze, in ablösbarer Form, erzeugt und danach direkt vom Master auf das jeweilige Substrat übertragen. <IMAGE>
