[origin: EP0564140A1] A vehicle location detecting apparatus comprising dead reckoning and map matching has detection means for detecting a right or left turn, readout means for reading, from the road map memory, road width data of the road that was driven on by said vehicle before the turn, and correction means for correcting the current location of the vehicle using the road width data and the angle turned.
