Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9307995A1] In order to synchronize switching from drilling to chiselling and vice-versa in a drilling and chiselling hammer, an axially movable sleeve (25) is capable of acting on spring-loaded switching members, i.e. a toothed wheel (16) and a retaining ring (26). The toothed wheel (16) meshes with the rotary motor drive and can be coupled by teeths (15, 17) to a rotary drive sleeve (13). The retaining ring (26) is linked by a pin (35) to the gear housing (3) so as not to turn and can be coupled by teeth (14, 31) to the rotary drive sleeve (13). The modes of operation may be switched over without considering the position of the teeth. Another advantage of the invention is that the individual parts of the device are more simple and that the volume of the parts to be tempered is reduced.
