[origin: EP0564705A2] The freezing compartment of a refrigerator can be closed by a freezing-compartment door with a locking mechanism which is articulated on one freezing-compartment side. In order to guarantee that the user closes the freezing-compartment door completely, before the refrigerator door is closed, the freezing-compartment door (1) is provided in the region of its articulation (3) with a resilient element (5) which acts upon the door in the opening direction. <IMAGE>
