[origin: EP0564795A1] The invention relates to a cleaning unit for cleaning ink-carrying surfaces in printing units of rotary printing machines. A coilable covering (3) is transported from a supply reel onto a winding reel, the winding reel being mechanically connectable to a drive element when inserted in guides. The transportation of the covering (3) and an engagement movement of a pivotable deflection element (2) onto an ink-carrying surface of a transfer cylinder (1) take place simultaneously by couplable drive elements (20, 27). <IMAGE>
