Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0565129A1] Method and installation for carrying out the method for the series manufacture of large sheet-metal panels of variable dimensions, for example for the manufacture of door leaves, in particular up-and-over door leaves, which are formed by a plurality of sheet-metal webs (24, 25) which are continuous along their length and joined together across their width by seaming along the longitudinal edges and, for as economical manufacture as possible, the sheet-metal webs are arranged symmetrically with respect to the centre of their width and, if desired, further sheet-metal webs provided adjacent to the latter have connected to them on both sides narrower sheet-metal webs which, when added to the other webs, give the desired width of the sheet-metal panel to be produced, all the sheet-metal webs being taken from a coil of sheet-metal strip of predetermined width and the sheet-metal webs on the transverse sides being trimmed parallel to their longitudinal direction to give the respectively required reduced width. <IMAGE>
