[origin: EP0565416A1] The present invention relates to an inking device for a gravure printing apparatus. This device is characterised in that it comprises a hollow ink-dispensing rack (4) parallel to the engraved cylinder (1) and adjacent to the latter over the entire length of the engraved part, in the region of the downward movement of its generatrices, the inner volume (8) of this dispensing rack being connected to a source of ink under pressure and communicating with an inking chamber (9) delimited in the horizontal direction by the ink-dispensing rack (4), and means for adjusting the thickness of the ink film formed from the inking chamber (9) on the peripheral surface of the engraved cylinder (1). <IMAGE>
