[origin: EP0565483A1] In a tank (1) with an overflow channel (7) arranged at the side, a channel (21), into the cross-section of which the wall (27) is immersed, is arranged on the tank side of the overflow crest (9). Solids (37), floating on the surface of the accumulated water, are retained by the wall (27) and cannot pass into the overflow channel (7), and from there into the receiving channel or into a water course. In the case of a wall (27) drawn up to the top, an odour barrier can be produced between the tank (1) and the discharge line (11) leading out of the tank (1). <IMAGE>
