Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9212091A1] A self-raising platform for building, renovating or maintaining the faade of a building. The platform essentially consists of a two-pole structure (12 & 14) supporting a platform (10). Each pole supports a rack and the platform comprises two motors each co-operating with one of the poles. Safety devices are provided, in particular to prevent the platform from tipping over should one of the hoisting motors break down, and particularly comprise a motor synchronizing shaft and sensors for sensing when one of the motors is under excessive strain and cutting off the power supply to both motors when one motor is unable to keep the platform horizontal.
