A device for opening sacks, bags and suchlike flexible packaging means filled with packaged material which cannot be cut or can be cut only with difficulty, especially for opening sacks and bags made of plastic which contain metals and other materials to be supplied for sorting, the device comprising a conveying path for the packaging means to be opened and at least one rotating tool engaging into the conveying path, is designed, with a view to high functional reliability and robustness, in such a way that the tool is designed as a high-speed percussion tool (7) having a smooth-faced central body with a predetermined minimum circumference and having at least one percussion arm (21 to 24) connected firmly to the central body and projecting predominantly radially outwards and is arranged within throwing distance of at least one baffle surface (34) of the conveying path. <IMAGE>

Eine Einrichtung zum Öffnen von Säcken, Beuteln und dgl. flexiblen Packmitteln, die mit nicht oder schwer schneidbarem Packgut befüllt sind, insbesondere zum Öffnen von Säcken und Beuteln aus Kunststoff, die Metalle und sonstige einer Sortierung zuzuführende Werkstoffe enthalten, wobei die Vorrichtung einen Förderweg für die zu öffnenden Packmittel und zumindest ein in den Förderweg eingreifendes umlaufendes Werkzeug umfaßt, wird im Sinne einer hohen funktionellen Zuverlässigkeit und Robustheit in der Weise ausgebildet, daß das Werkzeug als schnellaufendes Schlagwerkzeug (7) mit einem glattflächigen Zentralkörper mit vorgegebenem Mindestumfang und mit zumindest einem fast mit dem Zentralkörper verbundenen und vorwiegend radial nach außen abstechenden Schlagarm (21 bis 24) ausgebildet und innerhalb eines Schleuderabstandes zu wenigstens einer Prallfläche (34) des Förderwegs angeordnet ist. <IMAGE>
