Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0566209A1] A list of routing objects (LOA<P>k, LOA<S>i) is associated with each switching node (NCP, NCS) of a telecommunication network. Each list comprises a plurality of routing objects, parameters of which (CM, O, D, S, CV) are described in a tree-like manner. In response to a call message received by a node, a search is made for the set of objects whose parameters have tree-like descriptions encompassed within the tree-like descriptions of the elements of the call message. From this set is selected the object with maximum gain so as to route the call as a function of the downstream path parameter (CV) of the object selected. The gains for each object are calculated as a function of information from charge meters. Moreover, for each object with maximum gain, the opportunity is examined of creating new objects by incrementing by one level the tree of each parameter of an object with maximum gain as so many new objects. The objects whose difference in call-connection gain with the object with maximum gain is a maximum are retained. The least promising objects from an economic viewpoint are discarded. <IMAGE>
