Abstract (en)

Device for controlling the thickness of a metal deposit formed on a strip (B) leaving a galvanising bath (1), comprising at least one nozzle (L1, L2) for blowing air through a slot (5) arranged between the opposed and slightly set apart ends of two jaws (41, 42). According to the invention the slot (5) for forming the air knife (A) is bounded by two plane faces (51, 52) parallel to each other, defining the direction (50) of the air knife (A), and one of the said faces (51) is arranged on a deformable lip (53) lying inside a cavity (43) arranged at the end of a first jaw (41) and capable of sliding along a plane supporting face (44) substantially perpendicular to the direction (50) of the air knife (A) while being deformed under the action of means (6) for adjusting the width of the slot, the plane face (51) being moved parallel to itself. <IMAGE>
