Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0566527A1] The method of management, according to the invention, of a refuse pit (1) can be broken down into two parts, firstly an application on the admission of the refuse to and an application on the removal of the refuse from the pit, it being possible to apply the two parts independently or simultaneously. During management of the admission of the refuse, the average lower calorific power (PCi) of the refuse charging is estimated (21), the lorry (30) then being directed, following a calculation carried out by calculation means (6), towards a given access (10) to the pit, in such a manner that the PCi of the pile of refuse (5) contained in the pit is as homogeneous as possible. For the management of the removal of the refuse, detection means (8) make it possible, also with the aid of calculation means (6), to determine the general shape of the pile contained in the pit and to order the grab (12) of the travelling crane (11) for emptying in order to take the refuse from a given place in the pile. The management of a pit according to the process of the invention makes it possible to economise on the work of the travelling crane as well as the presence of a crane operator, which reduces the cost of incineration of the refuse. <IMAGE>
