Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0566887A2] In the neck of a symmetrically constructed harp, the strings arranged "centrally" in the middle of the neck are pressed, by means of slides with a cam, against a pin which is arranged precisely at the precalculated semitone distance. The vibrating length of the string is shortened, and the string sounds a semitone higher. As a result, the harp can be played in various keys - up to 8 keys - without retuning by means of the tuning pegs. <IMAGE>
