Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0567050A1] This rest includes a stirrup clamp (2) which is fastened in the conventional manner onto the violin. The clamp includes a small plate in which a groove (17) of dovetail cross-section is made. An arm (5), forming part of a shoulder rest, has at its fastening end (14) a cross-section of similar shape. In addition, this arm is split in order to receive a control member (18). The latter, by rotation about the axis (X-X) of the slot (13), can separate the branches (5a and 5b) of the arm in order to wedge it in the groove (17). The control member (18) is mounted permanently on the shoulder rest (4). Application to stringed instruments played from the shoulder. <IMAGE>
