Abstract (en)
A coating method in which an auxiliary liquid, flowing onto upper surfaces of guide plates and having higher surface tension and lower viscosity than a coating film, is joined with both edges of a coating film which flows on a slide surface of a die to be supported by the guide plates. The coating film free falling from the slide surface along edge guides collides with a running web so as to coat the web with the coating film, wherein the auxiliary liquid is poured from a position on a distance of not more than 10 mm from a boundary line between the guide plates and the edge guides in a side of the guide plates. <IMAGE>
