[origin: EP0567690A1] The invention relates to a method of producing a pot-like housing (11) from rolled sheet metal (1), with a closed base (8) and an opening (9) provided with lugs (2). The new method makes it possible to obtain a pot-like housing produced by rolling which can be installed in exactly the same way as a drawn part, which can be produced only at some expense. The advantages obtained consist essentially in that a watertight pot-like housing can be produced at little expense and furthermore has more space in the area of the bottom for components (magnets) to be accommodated than, for example, deep-drawn housings. In addition, very precise seating is obtained when flange-mounting the housing. Using the new method, it is possible to use less expensive material than, for example, when deep-drawing. A uniform wall thickness is furthermore obtained. For all its advantages, the new method is cheaper than known methods (deep-drawing). <IMAGE>
