[origin: EP0567743A1] In a method for filling packages (12), especially paper sacks or paper bags, the filling material is lowered out of a filling-material container (1) arranged above the package into the package and, in the lowered position, is emptied within the package. After emptying, the filling-material container moves back into its initial position again. Before the filling-material container is lowered into the package, a plastic-foil bag (7) closed at the bottom and open at the top is slipped over the filling-material container and, together with the filling-material container, is lowered into the preformed package. The preformed package is located in a preforming device (2). The emptying of the filling-material container takes place into the plastic-foil bag. <IMAGE>
