[origin: EP0568104A2] A pyrolysis and combustion installation for disposing of hazardous wastes, especially of non-recyclable, organic wastes, having - a proportioning installation in which the wastes are accommodated for further processing; - a pyrolysis chamber for the pyrolysis process, the wastes being heated, dried and cracked; - a thermal reactor for the oxidation process, in which the flue gas produced from the wastes is combusted; and - a control device for monitoring and setting process parameters is characterised in that there is provided, for the thermal reactor in its inlet section, a burning device which consists of a multiplicity of individual burners which are arranged around the circumference of the chamber of the thermal reactor, the nozzles of the individual burners each being aligned at an angle alpha with respect to the direction of the gas stream and at an angle beta with respect to the normal to the circumference. <IMAGE>
