[origin: EP0568400A1] A brush intended for applying a cosmetic product comprises a multitude of bristles (3, 4) implanted transversely in a core. These bristles are formed by a mixture of bristles chosen from at least two groups, namely a first group consisting of bristles (3) of relatively small cross-section, and a second group of bristles (4) of larger cross-section. The bristles (3) of small cross-section are produced in a thermoplastic material having a melting temperature above the melting temperature of the thermoplastic elastomer material from which the bristles (4) of larger cross-section are produced. The melting temperature of the thermoplastic material of the bristles of small cross-section is of the order of 230 DEG to 280 DEG C, whilst the melting temperature of the thermoplastic elastomer material of the bristles of larger cross-section is of the order of 150 DEG to 230 DEG C. <IMAGE>
