[origin: EP0568456A1] The subject of the invention is the manufacture of iron-reinforced round timber guard fences (crash barriers), and the mounting thereof on galvanized iron supports with spacers made of galvanized metal or of wood and metal. A guard fence according to the invention includes profiled iron posts (1) supporting a spacer (2) which in turn supports a horizontal rail (3) composed of round timber sections which are preslit and reinforced with embedded metal bars which strengthen the wood and bind the elements. <IMAGE>
