Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0568499A1] The device for displaying the power reserve, which can be fitted in particular to a mechanical watch with automatic winding, assumes a modular form which can be accommodated outside the movement, thus facilitating access to the elements of the device, and avoiding any consequent modification to the basic movement. The information given to the device arises from two non-coaxial spindles (2A,8A), thus making it possible to minimise the over-thickening of the movement plus device assembly. A star wheel (1) carrying the display member (not shown) includes a groove (16) in the form of a circular arc cooperating with a fixed pin (5), and a notch (1c). When the mainspring is fully wound or unwound, the display member is stationary, the end (16') respectively (16'') coming up against the pin (15). When, following a knock for example, an accidental shift occurs in the direction of the arrow (6), that is to say in the winding up direction, or in the direction of the arrow (14), that is to say of winding down, resetting (or readjustment) is performed automatically, in the first case with the first complete winding up, in the second case by virtue of the effect of the notch (1c). Indeed, the watch being in the process of winding down, whilst the display hand is at rest, the tooth (1a) adjacent to the notch (1c) will be retracted with each pass of the cam (10), thus ensuring resetting. <IMAGE>
