Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0568844A2] The winding mandrel (12) of the rolling-up device (10) is preceded by a band-conveyor arrangement (16) which determines the conveying path (18) for the printed products (20) to be rolled up. Into the conveying path (18) opens from below a delivery device (30) which delivers an enveloping element (28), to be wound up together with a respective printed product (20), in the conveying path (18). The enveloping element (28) projects with a respective edge portion beyond the roller (114) and is held by means of the blowing-nozzle arrangement (130) so as to cross the conveying path (18). This edge portion is laid around the leading end region of the printed product (20) supplied and is introduced, together with this, into the mandrel gap (14). After the printed product (20) and the enveloping element (28) have been rolled up, the winding mandrel (12) is moved out in the axial direction and the small pressure bands (26) are stopped, so that the enveloped roll (26), by rolling on the small pressure bands (96) and on the small driven bands (58') of the delivery band (58), moves away from the rolling-up device (10). <IMAGE>
