The fire fighting device contains a solid charge (6) of an aerosol-forming compound, which is accommodated in the casing (1) with formation of a free space (7) in the latter, which free space (7) has a volume of at least 30% of the contents of the solid charge (6) and also contains a cooling means (3) for cooling the combustion products, which cooling means (3) has a layer of heat-absorbing material which may take the form of bulk material, a bundle of a multiplicity of tubes or a monobloc (17) with passages (8). The automatic fire fighting system includes fire fighting apparatuses (24), a temperature transmitter (28) a main and reserve power source (25) and a quick-acting time fuse (33). Die Feuerlösch-Vorrichtung enthält eine Feststoffladung (6) aus einer aerosolbildenden Zusammensetzung, die im Gehaüse (1) unter Bildung in diesem eines Freiraums (7) untergebracht ist, dessen Volumen mindestens 30 % vom Inhalt der Feststoffladung (6) beträgt, sowie ein Kühlmittel (3) zur Kühlung der Verbrennungsprodukte, das eine Schicht wärmeaufnehmenden Materials aufweist, die in Form von Schüttgut, einem Bündel aus einer Vielzahl von Röhrchen oder einem Monoblock (17) mit Durchgängen (18) ausgeführt werden kann. Das automatische Feuerlösch-System enthält Feuerlösch-Vorrichtungen (24), einen Temperaturgeber (28), eine Haupt- und Reserve-Stromquelle (25) sowie eine schnellwirkende Zeitzündschnur (33). Die Erfindung ist für den Einsatz vorzugsweise in Transportmitteln und geschlossenen Gebäuderäumen bestimmt. <IMAGE>
