[origin: WO9214060A1] A dry-running twin-shaft vacuum pump (1) with at least one expansion chamber (11, 12, 13), a pair of rotors (4, 5; 6, 7; 8, 9) in the expansion chamber and driven by the shafts (2, 3) and a gear casing (21). In order to limit the regions contaminated during the conveyance of toxic substances to components which are easy to fit, it is proposed that between the gear casing (21) and the adjacent expansion chamber (13) be fitted an intermediate plate (51) pierced by the shafts (2, 3), holding the lateral exhaust pipe (52) and releasable from the wall (17) of the gear casing (21).
