[origin: EP0569689A2] In the case of a method and a device for sorting bottles, in which process the bottles are fed into boxes, are tested to ascertain whether they are of at least one predefined type, are at least partially removed from the boxes and are reinserted into the boxes when they have been sorted into different types, it is proposed that the removed bottles be directly, i.e. without intermediate storage, transferred from one box to another by means of a controller gripping device. This will result in boxes which contain only one type, while taking up a small amount of space, costing little and conveying the bottles in a relatively troublefree manner.
