A spark plug having a centre electrode (5) embedded in an insulator body (2), having at least one earth electrode (6) which is welded, for example, to a metal housing (12), and having at least one intermediate electrode (13) which is arranged such that it is electrically insulated from the centre electrode (5) and from the earth electrode (6) and which in each case forms at least one electrode gap (S1, S2) both with the centre electrode (5) and with the earth electrode (6). Zündkerze, mit einer in einem Isolatorkörper (2) eingebetteten Mittelelektrode (5), wenigstens einer, z.B. mit einem Metallgehäuse (12) verschweißten Masseelektrode (6) und wenigstens einer gegenüber der Mittelelektrode (5) und der Masseelektrode (6) elektrisch isoliert angeordneten Zwischenelektrode (13), welche sowohl mit der Mittelelektrode (5) als auch der Masseelektrode (6) jeweils wenigstens einen Elektrodenspalt (S1, S2) bildet. Die Zwischenelektrode (13) weist dabei einen ringförmigen Trägerkörper (1) für die Aufnahme auf den Isolatorkörper (2) auf, wobei an dem Trägerkörper (1) Lappen (3,4) angeformt sind und der erste Lappen (3) mit der Mittelelektrode (5) einen ersten Elektrodenspalt (S1) und der zweite Lappen (4) mit der Masseelektrode (6) einen zweiten Elektrodenspalt (S2) bildet. <IMAGE>
