The invention relates to a header box having an integrated expansion chamber for a heat-exchanger. <??>The header box includes an elongate open face (32) capable of being mounted over a manifold (18) placed in a substantially horizontal position, so as to allow a liquid to flow in the header box, between a first end (28) and a second end (30), whilst covering the manifold, a multiplicity of transverse partitions (541 to 546) formed in a single piece with the header box, arranged spaced apart between the first end (28) and the second end (30) and each extending as far as an end edge (561 to 566) situated near the open face, the said partitions being provided with respective openings (601 to 606), having passage cross-sections which decrease from the first end (28) to the second end (30). <??>Application especially to cooling radiators of the internal combustion engines of motor vehicles. <IMAGE>
