[origin: EP0570300A1] The invention relates to a road safety fence (crash barrier) consisting of metal profiled sections (2) assembled by partial overlap and bolting, and periodically supported by vertical posts (8), the profiled section (2) having a central groove (2a) extended on its two edges by a shoulder acting in particular as a stiffener, folded towards the rear of the said profiled section (2). The barrier according to the invention is characterised in that the central groove (2a) of the provided section is substantially identical to the profile of a horizontal rail (1) formed by rail elements, which are preferably wooden, placed end-to-end, and bearing on the bottom of the said central groove (2a).
