[origin: EP0570342A1] The disc cartridge comprises a bottom box element (1), serving as disc housing, and a slide (3) configured to receive the box element (1), closed by a removable cover (2). This slide (3) allows closure of the opening (7) in the base of the box element (1), so as to protect the disc, when the cartridge is not inserted inside a disc reader. The slide (3) replaces the movable masking flap of prior-art disc cartridges. This makes it possible to reduce the cost price of the cartridge whilst eliminating the risk of an operating fault resulting from the wearing of the masking mechanism. <IMAGE>
