[origin: EP0570692A1] The automatic machine has a housing (1), the cover (2) of which is blocked by a pawl (5) in the closing position. Coins are inserted through a slot (10), are tested by an electronic coin tester (9) and finally pass into a collecting container (35), an electric motor at the same time pushing out one item of the products offered. For the maintenance of the automatic machine, for example the refilling of the products and the gathering of the collected coins, the service engineer pushes a card (41) having a data carrier into a slot (40), and contact tongues (44) read off the data on the card and store them in a memory (51) via a computer (50). Subsequently, particulars relating to the amount collected and to the operation of the automatic machine are transmitted to the data carrier of the card (41) and the cover (2) is released, so that the automatic machine can be serviced. The automatic machine is easy to service and is user-friendly and affords advantages in terms of management. <IMAGE>
