[origin: EP0570705A1] The invention relates to a telescopic hanger rod (H) with an internal rod designed as an inner tube (3) and an external rod designed as an outer tube (4), the internal rod guided inside the external rod being engageable relative to the external rod in a selected position. To improve the hanger rod in terms of construction and function, the invention proposes that the inner tube (3) has on the inside an axially supported engagement cam (R) which can be run over and interacts with a stop (A) of the outer tube (4) for absorbing an axial force. <IMAGE>
