A gripper for storage containers which can be stacked one on top of the other consists of a support frame (1) with a horizontally orientated holding beam (2) and a supporting beam (3) parallel to the holding beam (2). In this arrangement, the holding beam (2) can be placed against the front side of the container (5) right below the top container rim (6), and the supporting beam (3) can be placed against the lower area of the container wall (8). Furthermore, two catches (4) are pivotably mounted on the frame (1) above the holding beam (2). When the gripper approaches the container (5), the catches (4), with a common catch beam (10), automatically snap into place on the top container rim (6). To take hold of and transport the container, the gripper thus requires only one front side, so that several containers can be stored close beside one another in the rack. A special locking mechanism additionally ensures that undesirable disengagement of the holding catches during the transport is avoided. <IMAGE>

Ein Greifer für aufeinanderstapelbare Lagerbehälter besteht aus einem Trägerrahmen (1) mit einem horizontal ausgerichteten Haltebalken (2) und einem hierzu parallelen Stützbalken (3), wobei der Haltebalken (2) an der Frontseite des Behälters (5) dicht unterhalb des oberen Behälterrandes (6) und der Stützbalken (3) am unteren Bereich der Behälterwand (8) anlegbar ist. Am Rahmen (1) sind ferner oberhalb des Halbebalkens (2) zwei Klinken (4) schwenkbar gelagert, die beim Heranfahren des Greifers an den Behälter (5) mit einem gemeinsamen Klinkenbalken (10) am oberen Behälterrand (6) selbsttätig einrasten. Der Greifer benötigt somit zum Ergreifen und Transportieren des Behälters nur eine Frontseite, so daß im Regal mehrere Behälter dicht nebeneinander gelagert werden können. Ein Besonderer Sperrmechanismus sorgt zusätzlich dafür, daß ein ungewolltes Ausrasten der Halteklinke während des Transports vermieden wird. <IMAGE>
