Abstract (en)
Head for polishing machine with a vertical drive shaft (1) provided with a flange (2) for driving a casing (3) with several sector carriers (holders) (12) wedged onto horizontal shafts (9), in which head a first toothed wheel (4) is wedged onto the drive shaft (1) and a second toothed wheel (5) is mounted freely on this same shaft, below the first one, and which is integral with an annular cam (6) with a groove (7), a ring (14) with internal toothing, mounted freely and eccentrically with respect to the shaft (1) engaging with the said toothed wheels (4,5); in which head the shaft (9) of each sector carrier (12) is provided with a first vertical stud (15) carrying a roller (8) which is guided in the groove (7) of the said cam (6), and with a second stud (11) which is transverse with respect to the shaft (9) and extends beyond it; and in which head a ring (10) is mounted on the shaft (9) of each sector carrier (12), which ring is provided with two slits (17) with a helical track for guiding the ends of the corresponding stud (11) so that each sector carrier (12) is subjected to a reciprocating movement along its own axis (90) and, at the same time, to an oscillatory movement about the said axis (90). <IMAGE>
