A preexisting container (31) is provided with reclosability by attaching a reclosable bag (30) to the container and cutting through the base (22) of the bag to provide access to the container. The bag may be attached to the container by heat sealing or adhesive and may have a release sheet (35) covering the adhesive so that it may be attached by the consumer.
