In a furnace for smelting metal, in particular nonferrous metal, at least one burner nozzle (30) opens into a smelting chamber (9). In order to improve the melting of the smelting stock introduced into the smelting chamber (9) via the passage (22), the cross-section of the smelting chamber (9) is enlarged relative to the cross-section of the passage (22) in such a way that the smelting stock forms a conical heap (K) in the smelting chamber (9). Between the conical heap (K) and the wall (28) of the smelting chamber there is a free space (29). Abstract (de)
Bei einem Schmelzofen zum Schmelzen von Metall, insbesondere NE-Metall, mündet in eine Schmelzkammer (9) wenigstens eine Brennerdüse (30). Um das Aufschmelzen des durch den Schacht (22) in die Schmelzkammer (9) eingeführten Schmelzgutes zu verbessern, ist der Querschnitt der Schmelzkammer (9) gegenüber dem Querschnitt des Schachts (22) so erweitert, daß das Schmelzgut in der Schmelzkammer (9) einen Schüttkegel (K) bildet. Zwischen dem Schüttkegel (K) und der Schmelzkammerwandung (28) besteht ein Freiraum (29). In diesen sind die Brennerdüsen (30) etwa tangential zum Umfang des Schüttkegels (K) gerichtet. <IMAGE>
