[origin: EP0571764A1] The invention relates to an edging rail for wall or floor coverings, in particular those consisting of ceramic material, having a blade-like fastening leg (2; 102), which has a thickness of below, or anything up to, 1.5 mm, and having an edging leg (3; 103) which is thicker than the fastening leg (2; 102), the edging leg (3; 103) protruding upwards from the end of the fastening leg (2; 102) and, with its free end, defining a projection (U) towards the profile interior. For the purpose of improved bonding with the abutting mortar or adhesive, the invention proposes that the edging leg (3; 103) have a wall (3.2; 3.3; 103.2; 103.3) which is bent in the form of a ( and the outer tangent (T) of which has an angle of tau </= 90 DEG with respect to the underside of the fastening leg (2; 102) and which, at its end, defines a projection (U) - measured from the internal angle of the leg-joining region (4; 104) - of at least one wall thickness of the edging leg (3; 103). <IMAGE>
