[origin: EP0571821A1] The invention relates to a motor-driven refuse collection vehicle (10) with a cab (12) and an interchangeable refuse collection receptacle/container (14) which can be attached to and removed from the chassis (20) of the refuse collection vehicle (10). A lateral lifting and tilting apparatus and a pressing apparatus (22, 24) are so arranged, between the cab (12) and the container (14), that the waste from refuse receptacles (26) and the like can be emptied into the pressing apparatus (24) and pressed axially through an aperture (25) into the container (14). The invention is characterised in that the container (14) has a hook receiver or receiving ring (16) and a hydraulically movable hook device (18) which, at one of its ends, has the shape of a flexurally rigid frame (29) which has a hook (30) in the centre of its upper transverse strut (28), which hook can be brought into engagement with the receiving ring (16) which is secured centrally to the front of the container, and in that the aperture (25) lies within the frame (29) in the condition of use. <IMAGE>
