Device for fixing the escutcheon plate of handles and the like comprising a sub-plate (1) which defines a cylindrical tang (3) which supports the handgrip (4) of a handle and can be accommodated in a through hole (21) defined in an escutcheon plate. The escutcheon plate has, at the lateral portion of its lower end, a threaded through hole (25) in which a threaded grub screw (26) can be inserted; the grub screw abuts against an abutment (30) defined at the lower end of the sub-plate in order to retain the escutcheon plate in position by means of the engagement of the through hole of the plate against the cylindrical tang and of the grub screw against the abutment. <IMAGE>
