[origin: WO9214888A1] A waste outlet fitting (1) has a tubular body (2) in which a cartridge (3) is mounted. An elastomeric diaphragm (6) is carried by a central support member (4) integral with the cartridge and defines a skirt flaring outwardly to normally close the bore of the cartridge (25) and thus the tubular body (2). Part of the cartridge wall may be elastomeric for improved sealing with the diaphragm (6). Pressure of water leaving a basin via the outlet fitting (1) causes the diaphragm to deflect downwardly and inwardly allowing water to pass. When the basin is empty the diaphragm (6) returns to its original position under its own resilience, thus sealing the outlet from any back flow.

Un raccord (1) de vidange comprend un corps tubulaire (2) dans lequel est montée une cartouche (3). Une membrane d'élastomère (6) est portée par un élément de support central (4) construit en une seule pièce avec la cartouche et définit un rebord s'évasant vers l'extérieur de façon à refermer normalement le trou de la cartouche (25) et ainsi que le corps tubulaire (2). Une partie de la paroi de la cartouche peut être en élastomère afin de produire un joint d'une étanchéité améliorée avec la membrane (6). La pression de l'eau quittant la cuvette par le raccord de vidange (1) amène la membrane à dévier vers le bas et vers l'intérieur afin de permettre à l'eau de passer. Lorsque la cuvette est vide, la membrane (6) retourne à sa position orginale grâce à sa propre élasticité, refermant ainsi l'orifice de vidange de manière étanche contre tout reflux.
